The Evolution team presents the second season of EAD Championship, which will be held in the coming weeks. The championship is a Single Elimination Tournament fought between 8 teams in the Evolution A/D server.

The Teams
The teams will be formed by 8 selected captains. Each captain will be given 100 credits, with which they have to bid against other captains to pick players in an auction.

The Applicants
To apply for the event, submit an application here. If you want to volunteer as a captain, mention that in your application. Note that, each captain has their own team. So if you plan to form a team with your friends, make sure they did not volunteer as captain themselves.
We have 8 teams, so the applications will be closed at 48 or 56 applicants.

The Captains
The management will pick 8 captains out of players who volunteered for captaincy. The criteria for selection would be:
Player has basic math skills to make bids.
Player has required IQ to understand the auction.
Player is active enough to be available for the auction.
The selection in no way reflects the player's skill level in A/D.

The Auction
The auction will be held on IRC channel, #EAD.Championship which will host the auction scripts. It is not mandatory to join the auction, but it will be interesting to watch the bid wars during the formation of teams. All captains are required to be present during the auction.
The script will call out the name of a participant, and start the timer for 60 seconds. The captain will place bids from their credits for that player. The captain with highest bid after 60 seconds, gets the player. The script will progress to the next applicant.
A detailed tutorial and demonstration will be given to captains after they are selected.

Sky-City will be replacing the current script in the server (that what makes you able to use commands and stores data such as vehicles and your money) with an updated version written from scratch in the next upcoming days.

Besides the server being renewed the forums will get a new look and we're glad to announce some new features it would bring along.

Existing player accounts
When joining the renewed server (which will keep having the same IP and port) existing accounts will be automatically converted. Players will keep their current vehicles, money and statistics.
Co-Owners of cars however, will get reset. This does not mean you cannot share your vehicle with friend(s) afterwards again, in fact the new script will allow you to share your vehicle with multiple players.

LMS
The LMS mode will be returning to Sky-City in the new script. This mode requires at least 3 players to be participating, players then get teleported to a safe area to fight each other. The player that survives wins $1000.
A player can start an LMS round by typing !lms [weapon name/id]. The square brackets used in command syntaxes refer to the parameter being optional. When no weapon name/id is specifed it will default to the Stubby Shotgun.
After starting an LMS round players may join the round by typing !joinlms.
The LMS round will automatically start after 30 seconds. The host (the player that started the LMS round) can force the LMS mode to start by typing !startlms.

Race
Another new feature will be the race mode. This mode requires at least 2 players to be participating.
A player can start a race by typing !race [track id]. When no track id is specified it will pick a random track.
After starting the race mode players may join the race by typing !joinrace, the vehicle the player currently is driving will be the vehicle the player will use in the race.
The race will automatically start after 30 seconds. The host (the player starting the race mode) can force the race to start by typing !startrace.
Only players finishing on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places get a prize.

Fixes and command syntax
We have taken note of all the bugs and errors players have reported in the old script and rewritten the script to take care of those. Some commands will have a different syntax or effect that we think would have been better. (We recommend you to try out the new !cardive!)

Webstats
The new forum will have a couple of new pages including a live map, live web statistics and account transfer. You can view the amount of kills per player or weapon anytime live on the website. We will also be providing a signature showing statistics to use in your forum signature and a JSON file for developers to create their own applications showing your statistics in Sky-City.
