i dont find them "ridiculous" like you said.. just for trying to speak a non-native language(in a discernible way) is already a nice way to start.  remmenber that in some countries ppl are more used to use english in their quotidian.

And he dint even say that you called him ridiculous. He mentioned "i dont find them "ridiculous" like you said" which means he did use them and them here states that he was indicating to the mistakes which the applicant did not that he said you called the applicant ridiculous.

English is a difficult language buddy. Nobody can do perfect in here.
